While the new leaves start out green, Black Coral leaves turn into glamorous glossy, dark leaves with electric blue veins. If your plant doesn't look just like the picture, give it a little time to grow up. Elephant ears' attributes become even more defined when they mature.

• Light: 65%-75% shade. Likes high light. 80% shade maximum.

If I could give this zero stars I would. I have been looking for a black elephant ear to add to my collection. I finally stumbled on this website and was super excited to purchase. After purchasing multiple plants from Home Depot and other stores, I just knew this was going to be better. Boy was I wrong. For $20, which is standard for a good size plant from most stores, I got this teeny tiny elephant ear with two leaves. Originally it was supposed to arrive on a Tuesday, but I didn’t get it until Friday. It came in a box with no holes and fit in my mailbox. I was so confused opening it because the picture on their website is of a full size plant. Upon actually getting it open, one of two leaves were yellow and dead. When I contacted the company, they essentially said give it some time and it will be fine. I will not purchase another plant for this website.

Beautiful colocasia! It has taken to its pot nicely! Sits on my porch for now until it drops to below 50 at night. It won't be black when it comes inside though unfortunately, even under grow light as I've had one of these before. It's a direct sunlight kinda girl (at least in Ohio) ☀️
