GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
Bird of Paradise culture is similar to that of Traveler's Trees. For the first year or so, grow your Bird of Paradise in a pot away from full sun. After it grows larger, plant it in its final position in full sun, part sun, or light shade. Protect it from freezing and frost.
- Average mature height: 4-6 feet
- Fertilizer: Frequent fertilization during the growing season
- Light: Full to part sun
- Pest control: Watch for scale and mealy bugs
- Soil: Can adapt to any well-drained soil but prefers moist, loamy soil. Birds of Paradise are drought tolerant once they are established.
- Zones: Perennial zone 9
