This Philodendron is truly unique with coloration that defies nature's typical green. So if you're going for original, this is the houseplant for you. Please note that the leaves darken as they mature and are exposed to indirect light, so you'll see a variety of shades before reaching that intense, nearly black, color. Create a checkerboard look by pairing the Black Cardinal with the Yellow Ghost (which is actually white). Or add pops of color against the Black Cardinal's contrasting deep, rich background with the Prince of Orange or Pink Princess Philodendron.
