Turk's Cap is a bush loved by butterflies from the Malvaceae family (cotton, hibiscus, hollyhock, okra, and more). Lively red (and sometimes white) blooms dot the plant in the summer and continue into the fall. It has a few common names, such as Drummond's Turk's Cap, Wax Mallow, Red Mallow, Texas Mallow, and Sleeping Hibiscus; however, its most common name is Turk's Cap since it's said to resemble a Turkish turban. Turk's Cap is easy to grow in almost any planting conditions.
• Height when mature: 2 to 3 feet if cut back or up to 9 feet
• Light: Partial sun, shade
• Soil: Adaptable to many soil types
• Water: Average watering needs. Very drought tolerant.
• Zones: 9-11
