The Red Trunked Popoulu Banana Tree originated from Tonga, but became popular in Hawaii. Its rotund fruit is square on the ends, green-yellow on the outside and its pulp is a salmon-pink color.
If you've ever had an apple banana-flavored treat, the creator might have received inspiration from the Popoulu banana. It gives a whole new meaning to "I like to eat, eat, eat apples and bananas."
