Thai Black bananas are fast growers that feature deep green leaves with a striking black pseudostem. It does produce fruit, but it's a seedy, ornamental type of banana. For best color results, give the plant plenty of light and allow time for it to mature into its rich hue.

• Soil: Good water-holding capacity. Don't allow it to dry out between waterings.
