The Alata is one of the easiest Nepenthes pitcher plants to grow. It makes a great indoor or outdoor plant.

• Cold hardiness: The Alata is a lowland Nepenthes, which means it prefers 65 to 90-degree weather during the day and 60 to 70 degrees at night. Protect Nepenthes from cold below 40 degrees.

How tall are baby plants?

We aim to ship your plants when they’re 3-8” tall, though we often ship them taller than that.

What determines whether I get a 3-, 6-, or even 18-inch-tall plant?

The exact size of the plant we send you is variable on the time of year and how long we've been growing it out.

Don't give your carnivorous plant fertilizer!

Carnivorous plants are adapted to receiving low soil nutrition. They consume bugs to compensate for it. If you try to bypass their nutrient delivery method, by using fertilizer — or tap water with a high particle count — it could harm your plant.
