Bird of Paradise is a popular, virtually problem-free perennial for container or landscape growing. The white variety grows to spectacular heights (15 to 20 feet) and grows magnificent white blooms. Its long-lasting flowers bloom over an extended period. Bird of Paradise is a member of the banana family (Musaceae) and comes from South Africa.

Bird of Paradise culture is similar to that of Traveler's Trees. For the first year or so, grow your Bird of Paradise in a pot away from full sun. After it grows larger, plant it in its final position in full sun, part sun, or light shade. Protect it from freezing and frost.
  • Average mature height: 15-20 feet
  • Light: Full to part sun
  • Soil: Can adapt to any well-drained soil but prefers moist, loamy soil. Birds of Paradise are drought tolerant once they are established.
  • Zones: Perennial zone 10-11
  • Plants range from 3-8 inches tall in 3-inch-deep pots
  • Orders fulfilled within 1-2 business days
  • Award winning customer service
  • 30-day Arrive Alive Guarantee
