From Madagascar to Tahiti, vanilla is commercially-produced in many countries but is not widely-grown domestically. Sunshine State Vanilla is out to change that. Sunshine State Vanilla is a special new Vanilla planifolia variety bred specifically to grow vanilla beans well in Florida, bringing the vanilla market local. It can climb a tree or be twined around a hanging basket. Since this vanilla bean orchid is tropical, it only does well in non-freezing areas, but it makes an excellent houseplant, too, if you want to bring a piece of the Sunshine State to your home.

We aim to ship your plants when they’re 3-8” tall, though we often ship them taller than that.

What determines whether I get a 3-, 6-, or even 18-inch-tall plant?

The exact size of the plant we send you is variable on the time of year and how long we've been growing it out.
