The Venosa is a clumping pitcher plant. It has the broadest geographic range of any pitcher plant. It grows to about 6 - 8 inches in height. The leaves can be a deep maroon or green with varying degrees of a rosy to purple blush.

• Light: High light. Full sun to lightly filtered sun.
• Soil: Grows well in peat, peat/perlite, or sphagnum moss.

2 pitchers. One about 3", the other about 2 1/2". I guess I'm a little disappointed because everything else I've purchased from them has been above expectations.

Strong and happy

It has been several weeks and the plant is healthy. The package arrived faster than any other sellers I've used for far. Right away I was able to put it outside in my mini bog with rainwater and full sun. Today I see the three newest pitchers coming in vigorously and very happy.

Shriveled Up & died

The plant arrived healthy & in good condition, but this past Friday when I planned on transplanting it, it looked like it was mummified. I have no idea why this happened. The other 2 plants that I purchased at the same time also had leaves that were turning yellow.Maybe I should have transplanted them sooner. I should be able to save those 2 but I don't think I can save the carnivore. I plan on ordering a replacement today.

Don't give your carnivorous plant fertilizer!

Carnivorous plants are adapted to receiving low soil nutrition. They consume bugs to compensate for it. If you try to bypass their nutrient delivery method, by using fertilizer — or tap water with a high particle count — it could harm your plant.
