We sell baby plants

Wellspring Gardens is the starter plant, AKA “baby plant” shop. We just get you started, so you get all the credit for raising your plants under your green thumb.

How tall are baby plants?

We aim to ship your plants when they’re 3-8” tall, though we often ship them taller than that.

What determines whether I get a 3-, 6-, or even 18-inch-tall plant?

The exact size of the plant we send you is variable on the time of year and how long we've been growing it out.

pretty plant

Looked dead

the plant was droopy and looked dead but quickly came back to life with a little water and care. Cannot wait to see what it looks like when it grows up.

Hi Laurence, we're so glad to hear your plant bounced back! We can't wait to see its growth too. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Pretty little thing

I didn't realize when I placed my order that I'd be getting a free plant, so finding it in the box was a nice surprise. They aren't kidding about the "mystery" part -- It arrived as just a small plant with nothing to indicate what it is. Fortunately, even a tiny Polka Dot Plant is easy to identify. Right now it's not much more than a couple inches tall, but looks healthy and the pink coloration is already very impressive for something about the size of my big toe. It may not be something I bought intentionally, but that's true of a lot of my favorite plants around here. So thanks, and I can't wait to see what it grows up into.

Hi Patrick, we're delighted to hear you enjoyed the surprise plant! It's always fun to see what mystery gifts arrive, and it sounds like your Polka Dot Plant is off to a great start. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we look forward to seeing how it grows!

super cute

So glad to hear that you love it! Enjoy your Polka Dot plant ☺️

Pretty plant

Would have been nice to have the 'mystery' revealed at unpackaging. I still don't know what this is - need to get google lens out there to figure out my mystery. It is VERY small...
