Monstera deliciosa - Split-Leaf Philodendron/Swiss Cheese

Please note that Monstera leaves start out solid with no holes or splits, but as they mature, they get their characteristic features. Monstera can be grown outdoors in frost-free locations where it can grow crazy tall, wider, and can even develop blooms. It also grows an edible fruit, which tastes like a tropical blend of mango, banana, and pineapple. Ensure it's completely ripe before eating to avoid a burning and stinging sensation in your mouth that the unripe calcium oxalate crystals can cause. And don't eat any other parts of the plant, which are toxic. With its split leaves and edible fruit, Monstera deliciosa is one of the most versatile houseplants.
