The T.R. Hovey Dwarf Papaya (Carica papaya) is a self-fertile variety that produces fruit that weighs up to 3.5 pounds. You can count on 40-60 papaya fruits each year! The T.R. Hovey begins to flower around 2.5-3 feet or 8-10 weeks after planting, and the fruit ripens 6 to 8 weeks after it sets.
- Average mature height: 4 to 6 feet
- Fertilizer: For the first 2-3 months, apply liquid fertilizer and then one pound of 4-8-6 granular fertilizer weekly.
