Crested Leopard Plant (Tractor Seat Plant) - Farfugium japonicum 'Crispata'

If you've never seen an old-fashioned, back-in-the-day, tractor seat, all you need to do is look at the shape of the Farfugium's leaves to know where its nickname stems from. Farfugiums are also known colloquially as Leopard Plants due to some varieties which are spotted. 'Crispata' is a variety, known for its crested/ruffled leaves. The leaves become more ruffled as the plant matures, so your plant will likely have a blend of typical leaves mixed in with the signature wavy 'Crispata' leaves. The curly leaves alone are impressive, but this plant also produces small, yellow blooms. Farfugiums love shade, so you can successfully grow it as a houseplant, too.
