Add a touch of the tropics to your garden with this 3-pack of Dwarf Banana Plants, each with its own unique qualities. Whether you’re looking for high-yield fruit, a compact size, or a hardy variety, these bananas are perfect for small spaces, containers, or traditional gardens.

  1. Dwarf Cavendish Banana – One of the most popular banana varieties, the Dwarf Cavendish was a commercial favorite when it replaced the Gros Michel variety. Known for producing medium-sized bananas, it’s an ideal choice for home gardeners who want to grow their own fruit. It thrives in sunny spots with rich, well-drained soil and will provide a fun tropical addition to your space. (Mature height: 8-10 feet, Light: Mostly sunny, Soil: Rich, well-drained, Zones: 8-11)

  2. Double Mahoi Banana – This unique banana plant doubles the yield, producing two fruit bunches per stalk. It's perfect for small gardens and provides sweet, flavorful fruit. With a compact size and high productivity, it’s a top pick for those who want a productive, easy-to-grow banana plant. (Mature height: 6-8 feet, Light: Full sun, Water: 6-7 times per week, Zones: 9-11)

  3. Dwarf Orinoco Banana – A smaller version of the hardy Orinoco banana, the Dwarf Orinoco grows to just 6-10 feet tall but produces the same thick-skinned, non-curved fruit. Known as the donkey or burro banana, it’s perfect for container growing and is very disease-resistant, making it a great choice for a productive and easy-care banana plant. (Mature height: 6-10 feet, Light: Full to part sun, Soil: Rich, well-drained, Zones: 7b-11)

These Dwarf Banana Plants will not only brighten your garden with their lush tropical foliage but also provide you with the joy of homegrown bananas. 🍌

We sell baby plants

Wellspring Gardens is the starter plant, AKA “baby plant” shop. We just get you started, so you get all the credit for raising your plants under your green thumb.

How tall are baby plants?

We aim to ship your plants when they’re 3-8” tall, though we often ship them taller than that.

What determines whether I get a 3-, 6-, or even 18-inch-tall plant?

The exact size of the plant we send you is variable on the time of year and how long we've been growing it out.
