Pink China Elephant Ear - Colocasia
You won't find another elephant ear that's as cold hardy as the Pink China. Sure, this Colocasia prefers temperatures between 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit in summer and 60-65 degrees Fahrenheit in winter; however, after braving temperatures below 45 degrees, this variety can make a full recovery from dormancy (zones 7b and higher only). You can even dig up the bulbs and store them in a a dry, cool (but not freezing) location until winter finally turns its back on your garden. If your plant doesn't look just like the picture, give it a little time to grow up. Elephant ears' attributes become even more defined when they mature.
