The Netherlands Staghorn is a full and compact fern with leaves that can reach up to 24-inches long. Staghorn ferns can be grown in many ways: grow them in a pot or mount them on a slab of wood, tree fern fiber, or a wire basket. Staghorn Ferns do well indoors and outdoors in areas where freezes rarely occur. Scientific name: Playtcerium bifurcatum
Fertilizer: Fertilizing is only necessary about twice a year unless vigorous growth is desired. Use a ratio of 1:1:1 such as 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 water soluble fertilizer up to monthly, if desired, in the warmer growing season.
Light: Light shade
Soil: Allow soil to dry between waterings.
Zones: Do not allow to freeze. Can be grown indoors.
Plant size. Our plants ship in 3-inch-deep pots when they are 3-6 inches tall so they can grow to maturity under your green thumb.
