Leucophyllum frutescens. Texas Ranger or Silverleaf. An evergreen with silver blue foliage and lavish numbers of violet flowers. Not a true sage. Native to Texas and the southwest.
Plant in full sun and in reflected heat locations. Loves the heat and is quite drought tolerant once established. Flowers profusely during humid months.
Hardy down to 10° F. Prefers soils with very good drainage. In drier and sunnier conditions grows somewhat compactly to 4 feet. Up to 8 feet in wetter or semi-shaded conditions.
