This variety of staghorn is very desirable. It is quite full and a little more compact than the usual staghorn fern. Leaves will reach up to 24 inches. Staghorn ferns can be easily mounted onto a slab of wood, tree fern fiber, or a wire basket, or this variety can be grown in a pot. Grows well indoors and outdoors wherever freezes rarely occur.
Allow to become mostly dry between waterings. Prefers light shade. Fertilizing is only necessary about twice a year unless vigorous growth is desired. Use a ratio of 1:1:1 such as 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 water soluble fertilizer up to monthly, if desired, in the warmer growing season. Zones 10 - 11.
