  • Ficus carica. 'Black Mission' The popular Black Mission fig bears large fruit early July through late August. Large tree 20 - 30 feet if left unpruned (and does not freeze.) Produces large fruit that have deep purple skin and strawberry red flesh. Edible seeds. Medium eye. Suited to the Southeastern US. It is of the common variety of fig meaning it does not require pollination or another plant to develop and mature fruit. This beauty is a prolific bearer.

    Starter plants are shipped in 3" deep pots. We try to keep all of our plants between 3-8" in height with excellent root systems.

    The most popular canning fig in the south. Tends toward souring and splitting if weather is wet. This can be reduced by picking just before maturity and used as preserves. Brown skin and amber pulp. Will bear after severe freeze.
